"Crystal and Karen love what they do - and it shows! It shows in the intricate details, in the whimsical spirit, and the amazing array of artistic energy. When you purchase from the Sisters Shade you not only get a unique one of a kind handmade gift for someone special, or yourself. You are helping the economy by supporting local artists"
The Sisters Shade are just that sisters with the last name Shade. They grew up in the small steel town of Coatesville Pennsylvania. Karen chose to make her home in beautiful Chester County, while Crystal has yet to settle in one place. It wasn't until they were adults that they started doing craft shows together.

about Crystal
It's the most fun 4 minutes
you will have today.
Crystal has been creating art for as long as she can remember. From her studio (ok it was really a storage closet under the stairs in her parents living room) as a kid to the potter she is today, she is her happiest when she has an artistic outlet. When asked what her favorite part of creating she said “ I don't enjoy my art as much as I NEED my art. Much as a junkie needs his next fix...I am obsessed with an overwhelming NEED to create. If I go a few days without doing something creative I go through withdrawal and am Not a nice person. Basically creating keeps me sane!”
Crystal has won several awards for her paintings and photos and her art has been sold online and in boutiques in the USA, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia.
Her main focus has become pottery “I simply love playing with clay and having it come alive in my hands, it is a feeling like no other”.

Karen Shade Leamy
Karen has always been involved in some kind of arts and crafts. She started with ceramics, hook
rugs, photography, cross stitch and embroidery all about the same time, which probably wasn't the
best therapy for her carpal tunnel syndrome.
So she started gardening, cooking, skiing and bought a motorcycle.
Finally, she thought
"I should maybe start acting my age, (NOT) so I gave up skiing. A friend
suggested we take a class in stained glass. Why not; 25 years later, I still love creating stained glass.
My latest passion is custom windows. I thrive on challenges. You design, I'll create.
When I am not creating I can still be found in my garden, it gets bigger every year!"
